Does PhantomLink store my IP address?
No. PhantomLink does not save your IP address in its database or in its on-server analytics counters. We only store the fields needed to create, deliver, and delete a secret link. Third-party services you enable separately, such as analytics, may process connection data under their own policies; your hosting provider or CDN may also keep standard server logs outside PhantomLink’s control.
Do I need an account?
No. PhantomLink requires no account, no registration, and no login. Create a link and share it immediately.
Can I password protect my message?
Yes. Password protection and an optional hint are both available when you create a link. You can also leave the link open with no password if you prefer.
What happens if nobody opens the link?
The message is permanently deleted when the expiration timer you selected runs out—even if nobody ever opened it.
Is PhantomLink free?
Yes. PhantomLink is 100% free to use.
What encryption does PhantomLink use?
PhantomLink encrypts message content with AES-256-GCM before it is stored on the server. The secret is decrypted only when someone opens a valid link (and enters the password, if you set one).
Can law enforcement access my messages?
After a message deletes or expires, there is no remaining copy in PhantomLink—it is as if it never existed on our servers. While a message is still active, it exists only in encrypted form for delivery; PhantomLink does not maintain long-term archives or browsable message histories.
